The A29 road connects Coleraine on the north coast to Cookstown, Dungannon and onwards to Armagh City. It is one of four link corridors within Northern Ireland's transport network.

History of Cookstown' by Henry L Glasgow was first serialised in the Mid Ulster Mail between March 1924 and March 1926.

With the demise of the Temple 100, which was last held in 1999, the Cookstown 100 became the oldest road race on the island of Ireland. It was first held as a 30-mile event on Thursday 15 June 1922.

Cookstown has one of the longest main streets in Northern Ireland "Anybody who drives through Cookstown at a busy time knows congestion is a major problem," he said.
