The Concourse Plaza Multiplex Cinemas in the Bronx is closing, leaving just one movie theater left in the entire borough.

The South Bronx picture house permanently shuttered on Tuesday night after over 30 years, leaving a borough of 1.4 million with just one surviving movie theater.

The Concourse cinema location is one of the last two commercial theaters in the Bronx. The movie theater held showings throughout the day for those who wished to see a movie in it before its closing.

The new movie theater will replace the old Concourse Plaza Multiplex Cinemas space, which closed in May 2024 after more than three decades in operation.
