Olympique Lyonnais' relegation to Ligue 2 was overturned by the appeals committee of the DNCG, French football's financial watchdog, on Wednesday.

The Direction Nationale du Controle de Gestion (DNCG, the organisation responsible for overseeing the finances of French football clubs) relegated Lyon to the second tier on June 24, with the club confirming later that day that they would appeal the decision, describing it in a statement as “incomprehensible.”

Olympique Lyonnais achieved a crucial victory off the field on Wednesday (9). After appearing before the Appeals Committee of the National Management Control Directorate (DNCG), the French club obtained authorization to remain in Ligue 1 for the 2025-2026 season, reversing the administrative relegation announced last week.
