The parade starts on Dec. 1 at 6 pm. Red carpet arrivals will show up between 4 pm and 5:30 pm.
GRMA director Jennifer Martin said this year's parade will feature marching bands, performers, costume characters, horses, dog rescues, giant balloons, musical acts and more.
The parade featured a diverse array of participants, including costumes, jeeps, motorcycles, first responders, classic Christmas displays, and, of course, candy for the eager onlookers.
Springfield's Christmas Parade tradition began in 1953. Over the years, it was put on by the Springfield Junior Chamber of Commerce then the Springfield Chamber of Commerce until 2002.
