CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) - Community members typically attend the Northern Wisconsin State Fair for it’s food and games, but many don’t know the history behind it.

The theme, “The Power of Place,” permeated the Fairfax County History Commission’s 20th annual conference on Nov. 2, including the power of places long gone.

She's been able to trace both sides of her family. Her father's side goes back to the Hampton Plantation near Towson, Maryland.
