CHICAGO – In spite of the extreme cold, a lot of people made their way down to Chicago’s lakefront Sunday, taking advantage of free days at some of the city’s biggest tourist attractions.
Those visitors to the city spent about $19.2 billion, up 8% year over year. And tourism spending brought in $2.2 billion in state and local tax revenue, according to a Choose Chicago report last June.
