After leaving the Navy in 1953, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter returned to Plains, where he took over his family's peanut-growing farm while also serving in the Navy Reserve for several years.

After Jeff Carter announced his retirement at the end of last season, he looked forward to just being a Dad for a while. "You miss a lot being a hockey player - you're in and out in a way," he said.
