The growing popularity of recreational all-terrain vehicle use in the Black Hills has prompted forest officials to try something new: trail rangers.

The Black Hills National Forest is creating its first trail ranger positions as recreational all-terrain vehicle use gains popularity on the trail system.

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The Forest Service announced Thursday that the Mount Taylor and Magdalena Ranger Districts will lift stage 1 fire restrictions.

The Northern Hills Ranger District on the Black Hills National Forest hosted an annual Camp Oasis Discovery Camp at Hanna Campground to provide environmental education to area youths.
