The collection of portraits, uniforms, documents and other memorabilia, entitled "The Wild Geese in Austria", charts a little-known footnote in Irish and Austrian history, from 1618 to 1918.
In 1914, the Habsburgs ruled an empire that encompassed not just Austria and Hungary, but Bohemia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, large parts of Poland and Romania, and even some of Italy.
