The Houston Astros are coming off a win against the Chicago White Sox. Famber Valdez had a monster day on the mound. He struck out 12 batters in 5.0 innings. He gave up seven hits and two earned runs and picked up the win.

McCullers managed to survive five innings, but gave up four runs on four hits, but, most importantly, also four walks. He only had 51 strikes out of 96 pitches, but his six strikeouts kept the game within reach.

The Cleveland Guardians were looking to avoid a series sweep in Game 3 against the Houston Astros. After two disappointing loses, it was crucial for the Guardians offense to make a splash and help out the pitching staff with some much needed run support.
