New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe will undergo X-rays and a CT scan after being hit in the left elbow by a pitch during Friday's game against the Boston Red Sox.

Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe left a game against the Boston Red Sox in the fourth inning with a bruised left elbow, two innings after he was hit by an 88.2 mph Walker Buehler pitch.

Shortstop Anthony Volpe was among the batters to have a standout moment, with his two-run home run in the first giving the Yankees a 5-0 lead off of former Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler. Volpe was promptly hit on the elbow by a pitch from Buehler in the second inning, and exited as a 'precautionary' measure.
