The Portland Trail Blazers have ended Anfernee Simons ’ seven-year run with the franchise by trading him to the Boston Celtics for Jrue Holiday. ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported the news. Simons, 26, averaged 19.3 points and 4.8 assists last season while struggling to adapt to being the starting point guard.

The Celtics, at the end of the day, got a positive asset in Anfernee Simons when they traded Jrue Holiday to the Blazers.

The Celtics also landed guard Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks in return for Holiday, and the 26-year-old Simons offers plenty of appeal as either a scorer in 2025-26 or a trade chip moving forward.
