A Jefferson Parish judge sentenced a man to 40 years in prison on Wednesday, June 25 for killing a man by wrapping his face and torso with duct tape, leaving him unable to breathe or free himself.

Neil Thompson, district attorney for the 24th Judicial District, has been elected to be on the executive committee of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference.
