Despite the third game entering development, Saber Interactive is keen to make sure that players of the second game are not left behind. While Space Marine 3 starts its journey to release, Space Marine 2 will still be supported with a host of post-launch content.

Space Marine 2 is very much not a live-service game. That’s one of the things that felt so refreshing about the sci-fi shooter when players flocked to it last fall. But it felt eerily like one late last month when an in-game reward was locked behind a busted community event.

Saber CEO Matthew Karch added: "Space Marine 2 has proven to be a transformative game for Saber. It is the culmination of everything we have learned about game development in our 25 years in the business. We are now starting to develop Space Marine 3, a game that carries with it tremendous expectations from our rapidly expanding fanbase."
