The Belmont Stakes is set to be run at Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York for a third consecutive year in 2026. Gov. Kathy Hochul and the New York Racing Association announced Friday that it will be the third and last time the Triple Crown finale is held there before returning to Belmont Park on Long Island in 2027.

New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul and the New York Racing Association jointly announced on Friday morning that the Belmont Stakes, part of the weeklong Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, will return to Saratoga Race Course for a third time on June 6, 2026, as Belmont Park completes its reconstruction.

That’s why it should be no surprise that Saratoga Race Course will remain the host of the Belmont Stakes in 2026. The race will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and, due to the configurations of the track in Saratoga, will be run at a mile and a quarter, rather than the traditional mile and a half.
