Palm Beach County commissioners chose a new administrator - Joe Abruzzo - to replace longtime executive Verdenia Baker, who retired after more than a decade of leading the county's operations and services.

The board of county commissioners voted County Clerk and Comptroller Joe Abruzzo into the role this afternoon.
