The governor of Illinois is responding to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation in Chicago's South Loop Wednesday that drew protesters and resulted in at least 10 people being detained.Sources said migrants and asylum-seekers were called to an immigration supervision program site in the South Loop for what they thought were routine check-ins by immigration authorities.

Immigration advocates and several alderpersons gathered outside the building as the arrests were in progress. They say federal agents detained about a dozen people who had shown up for a routine immigration appointment.
