OLD FORT, N.C. (WSPA) – An “out of control” wildfire fire has been reported off of Bat Cave Road south of Old Fort in McDowell County. The fire was caused by a tree falling onto a power line.

Ongoing recovery projects in Henderson County following Tropical Storm Helene include road reconstruction, repair and debris removal.
