Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) announced today that the state will begin issuing one-time, special tax refunds this week. The refunds were approved during Georgia’s legislative session (HB 112) to provide a one-time tax credit for individual taxpayers who filed income tax returns for the 2023

Checks for Georgia’s special tax refund are going out this week. They come out to $250 for single filers or $500 for married couples filing jointly.

The wait will soon be over for Georgians who qualify for the special tax refunds approved by the General Assembly this year. Gov. Brian Kemp said Monday the Department of Revenue will begin issuing the refunds this week from the $1 billion tax cut.
