Jazz Chisholm Jr. homered on the first pitch he saw in his 500th game and the New York Yankees beat the Athletics 3-0 to reach the halfway point of the season.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. appeared in his 500th game and joined some select company. Chisholm homered into the second deck in right field Friday night to give the Yankees the lead in their 3-0 victory over the Athletics and giving him 89 career homers to go with 109 steals.

After Warren allowed two hits and four walks in a 100-pitch outing in which he struck out seven, Tim Hill, Fernando Cruz, Luke Weaver and Devin Williams took it from there, allowing one hit in four innings. Williams earned his 11th save in 12 chances.
