Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan died on Thursday at the age of 71. Perhaps the most well-known and recognizable wrestler in the history of the industry, he was a major catalyst in the growth of the World Wrestling Federation throughout the 1980s.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the statement said. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans."

Ventura made his on-screen return to WWE last year on December 14 at Saturday Night's Main Event in Uniondale, New York. After the event, he talked about the differences in the old regime and the new one in a Substack post. Ventura mentioned that it didn't feel like a battle of egos in the back like it did during his time.
