Volkswagen has reportedly been working on the electric Scirocco since the beginning of 2023, shortly after Andreas Mindt became head of VW design.

Volkswagen apparently needs the Scirocco EV to add some emotion to its electric car range. Besides the 300 horsepower twin-engined version, there would also be a regular one with 170 ponies.

Should it move forward, the revived Scirocco might use the same PPE platform developed by Audi and Porsche, potentially featuring dual electric motors and offering more performance than the VW Golf R.
