A brief grass fire sparked near the Utah State Capitol building in Salt Lake City on Thursday, July 3, but was quickly extinguished by responding fire crews before it could cause any damage.

Officials reported that the capitol building was occupied by cleaning staff, as it is every night, and by Utah State Troopers. They did not say whether there were any injuries.
