Journalism — the Kentucky Derby post-time favorite who finished second in that race, before then winning the Preakness Stakes — is the 8-5 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s 157th running of the Grade 1, $2 million Belmont Stakes. Journalism will begin Saturday’s Belmont from post position No. 7 near the outside of the field.

The final Triple Crown race of 2025 is almost here. The Belmont Stakes arrive on Saturday, and some of the most well-known horses in the sport will once again go head-to-head for a significant payout.

That is because owners and trainer Bill Mott opted to skip the Preakness and with it a chance at the Triple Crown because of the short turnaround.
