A judge ordered that attorneys apologize both in writing and in person after a recording of a woman screaming -- that's part of an ongoing legal case -- rattled a South Philadelphia neighborhood last month.

Counsel for the plaintiff, Termaine Hicks, devised a "scream test," where a looped recording of a woman screaming at 122 decibels played for over an hour, starting at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 23. Area residents apparently weren't warned ahead of time.

A federal judge has ordered lawyers involved in a civil rights lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia to issue formal apologies to residents after conducting a "scream test" in a residential neighborhood.
