Sour Diesel is a potent Sativa-dominant cannabis strain with a rich history. It goes by several alternative names, such as Sour Deez, Sour D, and occasionally Sour Diesel Kush.

Whatever you call it, Diesel, Sour Diesel, and NYC Diesel are all prolifically peppy parents and are featured in the genetics of many contemporary, uplifting strains.

Sour Diesel is at top of the list for our desert island stash, but the classic strain is also finicky in the grow, and doesn’t yield much compared to today’s resin-covered heavyweights.

Sour Diesel is the ultimate in what I call a nice “vacation sativa.” It’s not as mentally engaging (or paranoia inducing) as a strong haze, but isn’t as heavy as a Trainwreck or Jack strain.

If I had the willpower, I would save a nug to enjoy this 2015 Sour Diesel later. Maybe 2016 will be the year we make "vintages" a thing.
