You and I have come across PVC that has gone from white to many colored shades: from light yellow to tan to almost looking like ABS black. Should PVC schedule 40 pipe and fittings continue ... or ...

The 1½-inch size is used to capture water that might flow ... as the inner structure of the PVC. Many years ago, all I would use would be schedule 40 PVC pipe for house plumbing.
