Thursday will mark the official unveiling of "R-Evolution" at Market and Steuart streets along the Embarcadero. The 45-foot-tall statue has appeared at Burning Man and Las Vegas. Her message is women's empowerment, according to artist and Berkeley native Marco Cochrane.

An imposing statue is slated to officially be unveiled in San Francisco on Thursday, though anyone who's walked along the Embarcadero this past week has surely caught glimpses of its disembodied limbs springing up toward the sky.

The 45-foot-tall sculpture of a woman will be a prominent featured along the Embarcadero in San Francisco for the next few months.
