Binger has decades of experience as an attorney and has handled murder and rape cases previously, but the Rittenhouse trial is far and away his most high-profile case. It has come with close scrutiny.

Binger has had aspirations to run for a district attorney position. He ran unsuccessfully for DA in Racine County, the county just north of Kenosha, in 2016.
