The Conley Container Terminal in South Boston has shut down until “further notice,” with dockworkers joining a nationwide strike that has closed 36 U.S. ports from Maine to Texas.
The MSC Verona, a 1,200-foot-long cargo ship, was docked at Conley Container Terminal in South Boston on Monday, the Massachusetts Port Authority said in a statement. The vessel is 167 feet wide.
"Conley Container Terminal and the Port of Boston play a pivotal role in the economy of Massachusetts supporting 66,000 jobs and generating more than $8 billion annually," the statement said.
