This is the fourth time the massive 87-year-old statue atop the Oregon Capitol Building is undergoing a re-gild.
Created by Ulric Ellerhusen, the Gold Man was affixed to the top of the Capitol in 1938 when the building was completed. Power was shut off to that portion of the Capitol on Aug. 1 for renovations.
