The maps below identify where aurora could be visible. Areas under a red shading have a higher chance to see northern lights, while areas under a green shading have a lower chance.
The northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, may be visible in states near the Canadian border, according to the NOAA. Most of Canada will also have a chance to see the lights.
The aurora will be visible over much of Canada and Alaska, but the northern lights can also be seen from as far as 620 miles away if the conditions are right, NOAA says.
