Thousands of people gathered at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Christmas Day to celebrate the holiday. It is especially surprising that one of the first federal agencies to come under scrutiny from the incoming administration is one that has returned billions of dollars to many of the same consumers who were counting on leaders in Washington to look out for their wallets.

It's Christmas Day and the first night Hanukkah, the first time the two have happened on the same day since 2005.

At the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, an early Christmas Eve mass was held hours before the traditional midnight mass so young children and others could attend.
