The Philippines' National Bureau of Investigation has recommended filing criminal charges against Vice President Sara Duterte over an alleged threat to assassinate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and others,

The National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) filing of criminal cases against Vice President Sara Duterte will not affect the impeachment proceedings to be done by the Senate. This was according to Senate President Chiz Escudero who explained on Wednesday that the two proceedings may even be conducted simultaneously.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recommended the filing of criminal charges against Vice President Sara Duterte. The NBI said on Wednesday that it found "sufficient evidence" to charge Duterte with grave threats and inciting to sedition,
