There's more inventory of Nvidia's aging GTX 1050 Ti amid a worldwide shortage of GPUs, but gamers should wait for a more modern graphics card.

The GTX 1050 Ti and 1050 are both coming in a bit more than a week from Nvidia -- with a few surprises under the hood.

In fact, the GTX 1050 3GB is practically the GTX 1050 Ti with one key difference. Memory is down to 3 GB only and, though it's the same GDDR5, is clocked lower to 96-bit bandwidth instead of 128-bit.

Nvidia also provided some GTX 1050 benchmarks for popular games running at 1080p, with the graphics card being partnered with a Core i5-4670K processor (presumably with no overclocking).

Nvidia's new GeForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics cards are downright affordable and don't require any extra power connectors.

To wrap up the low end of their new 10 series of graphics cards, Nvidia is launching the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti later this month.
