A teenager has died after triggering an avalanche, the fourth person killed in snow slides in Alaska this month.

A 16-year-old was riding a snowmobile in the Kenai Mountains when he was swept away and buried, officials said.

A 16-year-old died Saturday after triggering an avalanche in Turnagain Pass, Alaska. His death comes after weeks of warnings of the avalanche danger in the area and it follows the deaths of three heliskiers on March 4.

Three people were killed, including an American, and a fourth critically injured after a devastating avalanche swept away a group of skiers in Canada, local officials said.
