Morrow County Sheriff's Office deputy Daniel Sherrer, 31, was responding to a home at the 100 block of County Road 26 in Marengo when he was shot and killed by a suspect.

Daniel Weston Sherrer was killed in a shooting while responding to a domestic violence call on Monday, May 26.

Sherrer was hired at the sheriff's office in 2021 and this was his first law enforcement job. "He was a godsend for this sheriff's office, this community and this county," Hinton shared.
