A tractor-trailer carrying imported fruit caught fire on the Outer Loop of Interstate 495 early Tuesday morning, blocking lanes, officials said.

Firefighters say a mechanical failure led to a tractor trailer fire on the Capital Beltway in Maryland early Tuesday morning. Westbound lanes of Interstate 495 were blocked for several hours overnight while crews worked to extinguish the flames and clear the scene from the highway.
