RESEARCHERS IN Japan have unearthed a sunken shipwreck from one of the country’s most legendary episodes – the ill-fated 13th century invasion by the forces of Mongol ruler Kublai Khan.
In the 13th century, the Mongol Empire, led by Kublai Khan, thought it would be a great idea to invade Japan. They tried in 1274, launching a fleet of hundreds boats filled with 30,000 armed men.
