The ACLU of Florida has sued Miami on behalf of the NAACP and others for redrawing districts in a way that allegedly segregates voters based on race, WLRN can reveal.

Miami city commissioners have selected a new district map that they contend complies with the U.S. Constitution — but local activists have already indicated they will file an objection to it.

"WHAT WE KNOW: - Significant flooding continues across several neighborhoods in South Florida this morning, particularly across portions of Collier, Miami-Dade, & Broward counties," the office posted.
