“Metal Art” will be on display through June at the Deming Arts Center, 100 S. Gold Avenue. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturdays.
Gallery: Kalispel Tribe’s Career Training Center installed some metal artwork they sculpted for the roundabout at Waikiki near Whitworth.
One sculpture incorporates scrap metal, bells, bamboo, gears and river shells; another uses industrial-size hooks, spikes, springs, scrap metal, a steering wheel and pipe hangers.
Elyria artist Merritt Geddes creates sculptures out of scrap metal. Merritt collects pieces from local mechanic shops and scrap yards. He said he has created over 2,000 pieces over the last 25 years.
