Across the board, media outlets awarded the Mavericks an "A+" rating for their decision on draft night, all except for one. ESPN gave the Mavericks a "B" on the night, for one simple reason: they did nothing from a scouting or managerial standpoint to earn anything better.

DALLAS -- The Mavericks, as expected, took forward Cooper Flagg with the first pick of the 2025 NBA draft Wednesday night. "I'm feeling amazing. It's a dream come true, to be honest," Flagg said after his selection, with his family by his side. "I wouldn't want to share it with anybody else."

Flagg’s the second-youngest No. 1 overall pick behind LeBron James, who was eight days younger when Cleveland drafted him in 2003.
