Karen Read is adding a former alternate juror from her first murder trial to her legal team for the retrial, which is due to begin next week.

The Massachusetts woman is accused of running down her boyfriend, a Boston police officer. Her first trial ended with a hung jury.

In her only interview, Victoria George told VF, “I waited for nearly a year after the mistrial, hoping the court system would work as intended to remedy some of the wrongs in this case.”
