It was officially announced Thursday that Miami Heat rookie sensation Jaime Jaquez Jr. will participate in the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star weekend.

Jaquez isn't known for his athleticism but he did record one of the highest max vertical leaps in the 2023 NBA Draft Class, topping out at 39 inches. He has previous Slam Dunk Contest experience, too.

Jaquez will be the fourth different Heat player in franchise history to take part in the Slam Dunk Contest, joining Billy Thompson (1990), Harold Miner (1993 and 1995), and Derrick Jones Jr. (2020).
