It will probably never happen on the big screen but in the comic book shops, Marvel and DC are ready to team up once again. The two biggest comic book companies just announced that two of their most popular characters, Batman and Deadpool, are going to show down across splash pages later this year.

DC and Marvel Comics are joining forces for the first time in 22 years, and the companies are hanging the long-awaited collab on two icons: Batman and Deadpool. According to Entertainment Weekly, the two comic book juggernauts will square off in a pair of one-shot specials starring the Bats and everyone’s favorite Merc With a Mouth.

The "big two" have officially announced the first Marvel/DC Comics crossover event in over two decades. The Merc With a Mouth is set to cross paths with The Dark Knight next
