Transgender athlete AB Hernandez, a 16-year-old junior at Jurupa Valley High School, won multiple medals at California's state track and field championships, after President Trump ordered officials to block her from competing.

High school junior and transgender athlete AB Hernandez won the high jump competition in the California high school track and field championships on Saturday. Hernandez competed in high jump, triple jump and long jump at the meet in the Fresno County community of Clovis after week of developments over her participation in the girls competitions.

In a rules compromise, AB Hernandez shared first place in the high jump and triple jump in the California high school championship, and shared spots on the awards podium, too.
