A general-purpose laptop for large enterprises, the HP EliteBook 840 G7 is expensive but expertly delivers essential features for both IT departments and end users in a compact, stylish package.

HP EliteBook 840 G5 HP's EliteBook 800 Series G5 comes in 13.3-inch (830), 14-inch (840) and 15.6-inch (850) models. I was sent a 14-inch EliteBook 840 to evaluate.

HP's new EliteBook x360 1030 G3 adds eighth-generation Intel Core processors, and it trims down the body by a bit, allowing the 13.3-inch convertible to fit into a smaller footprint.

As expected, the EliteBook x360 1030 G2 runs Windows 10 Pro and comes with a bewildering array of HP applications and security features, nearly two dozen of them.

HP's slimmed-down enterprise Ultrabook has plenty to recommend it, but it's definitely more of a workhorse than a thoroughbred.
