Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert, who lost his starting job after the second game, will miss the rest of the season for the No. 19 Longhorns after having shoulder surgery.
Gilbert was a Texas quarterback prodigy. He had not lost a game in nearly three years, going 30-0 his last two seasons at Lake Travis High and 13-0 this season.
Garrett Gilbert is out as the starting quarterback at No. 24 Texas. The Longhorns will go with Case McCoy and David Ash at UCLA.
