The U.S. President was not warmly received at the FIFA Club World Cup final, amid political and sporting controversies ahead of next year’s World Cup.
Chelsea are the inaugural winners of the expanded Club World Cup after a superb 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday evening. The Blues were the underdogs against the reigning Champions League winners, but produced a remarkable display to stun Luis Enrique’s side.
Unfamiliar opponents have been a consistent theme through Chelsea’s run to the final. In four of their six matches in the Club World Cup, Chelsea have met their opponents for the first time in history. Only one side in their run, Benfica, they have met more than twice. But Enzo Maresca’s side handled their draw with relative ease.
