The UK's Easington gas terminal returned to full availability on Tuesday morning after Monday's outage, Norway's North Sea infrastructure operator Gassco said.

The country, like others across Europe, is building more facilities to handle an increase in imports of liquefied natural gas, much of it from the United States.

The unmanned platform, sitting in 43 metres of water, will be tied back to Centrica’s Easington gas terminal via a 34-kilometre 16-inch pipeline.
